Hard Corals

Hard corals are also known as stony corals, due to their ability to produce a calcium carbonate exosceleton. There are over 3,500 different known speices of hard corals and these are split into two discinct groups - SPS and LPS.

SPS (Small Polyp Stony corals) look and feel hard to the touch. SPS corals prefer well lit conditions with good water circulation.

LPS (Long Polyp Stony corals) can often be mistaken for soft corals due to their long polyp extentions. LPS corals are often easier to keep that SPS as they feed on planktonic foods more readily and prefer less water flow and do not necessarly need such intense lighting.

Below is a selection of hard corals that we usually keep in stock, but again, we are usually able to order in species we don't have within a few days.
